Houli

Adopt Me
|
Update **07.16.10** Still Waiting for a forever home! Please help before it is too late ! Houli is one of those once in a lifetime dogs! She is reserved around strangers will keep a watchful eye on strangers and new people until she feels comfortable. Catahoulas make excellent watchdogs, especially on ranches, farms and other wide-open spaces. She is loyal, extremely smart, high energy working dog, gets along with other dogs of all types, pigs, horses, cats and people. She is housebroken and crate trained. She appears to be mostly Catahoula Leopard Dog and is ready to herd and work most of the day. She would thrive in a family where she goes to work with the family and can run several miles per day. If you are interested in Houli, you will need to have the right environment and commitment to this breed and dog

Lexie

Adopt Me

*****Lexie is a lot of dog.I am still on the fence as to her breed but she could be Catahoula. She has interacted with a yellow lab run easy male and does well with him. Not recommended with cats or other female dogs in the home. Not a dog park type dog. Again another sweetie to handle as far as loving humans but she is tough on leash. Well they have ... See Morebeen cooped up for a long time, waiting waiting waiting. She is strong. She needs someone to really make sure they have her leash secured. I recommend a prong collar. They are safe and work well.
*******Lexie is in dire urgency. She is in temporary foster care in Tennessee. She is part of a group of dogs we call the "Frontier Dogs", they come from many different walks of life and sadly we do not know all of their stories, and hopefully the next chapters of their lives will be written with much tenderness and happiness. We call them the “Frontier Dogs” because they will now be are entering a new frontier. Many were taken from shelters and abusive situations with the best of intentions, only to have them end up back in a similar and in some ways much worse situation. Now for many this will be their third and forth chance at new a beginning, and this time there CAN be no failure, they will be entering a fresh “Frontier”, a new beginning. Please open your hearts to these dogs. They are all gentle souls, with big hearts, that need love, time and patience. If you cannot adopt, please donate or foster. We need help in many forms of contributions, whether it is food, medical, or homes. Anything you can spare is appreciated.

******This little miss has personality. She is a Ridgeback mix, small in frame with a cute bobtail. She loves loves to play with toys. She is NOT good with cats or small animals. She has hunting/prey drive. She would be good with a run easy male dog and again, a dog that loves people. There isn't one of the Frontier dogs that haven't wormed their way into my girl's hearts. Amber is waiting for a home. 7 weeks folks.. we need people to start stepping up for these Frontier dogs. *****Amber is in dire urgency. She is in temporary foster care in Tennessee. ******Ted like Spot has a real sweetness but Ted is a little more laid back with other dogs. He won't start anything. Remember that all these dogs have been through is enough to make them a bit uncertain in new circumstances. Ted will soon be treated for HW. We think he is going to make someone the nicest friend. He is never a trouble maker, he loves humans and easy to work with. ********Ted is in dire urgency. He is in temporary foster care in Tennessee. *******Another HW positive girl that will need some time to get over the treatment that we are getting done soon. Both she and Amber have a bad bad fungus going on. We have someone donating some meds and we are hoping to get that cleared up. It is bad. Mia seems good with every dog but we don't know about cats. She is a sweetheart, rather small/medium in size. She definitenly shows Catahoula as does Ted (x hound) Duffy, Spot (purebred) and possibly Lexie. ********Mia is in dire urgency. Shee is in temporary foster care in Tennessee.
