Transports are a big part
of rescue. Getting a dog from a shelter to a foster home or forever home is
a big challenge (in many cases the difference between life and death) and we can't
do it alone. Transports are broken up into 'legs'. Each 'leg' is approximately
an hour with extra time for potty breaks. If you can take an hour or two out of
your weekend to help get a dog to safety you will be helping to save a life.
There are few things more rewarding.
We have transports going
all over the US and Canada as needed so if you don't see one going through your
area but would like to help if one comes up please fill out our
Volunteer Transport Form.
*Don't like
to travel? We are often in need of volunteers to pick up a dog from a local shelter
and take it to the vets. We also need people to 'overnight' dogs that are
on long, multi-state transports. You can fill out the transport form too.
